Children and Hummingbirds: Pass It On, you will discover the surprising, tender parallels between the smallest birds on earth and the youngest members of your family. Hummingbirds are born in nests no bigger than a doll's teacup. Children curl into warm beds for sleepy heads. Hummingbirds fly like rainbows catching sunlight. Children's hair streams silver and gold in the wind. Both giggle and dance through their days. And both need the same simple, essential thing to thrive fresh, clean water. This gentle picture book invites you to slow down with your child and notice the natural world just outside your door. From purple mountains and butterfly bushes to beaches stretching for miles along open seas, every page celebrates what we share with the creatures around us and asks one vital question: what kind of world will we pass on?Karen W. Martin wrote this book inspired by season spent watching hummingbirds with her grandchildren in the mountains, a grandmother who understands that wonder is the first step toward stewardship.
