This illustrated compendium explores the old beliefs of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man, Brittany, and Galicia, revealing a shared cultural thread of spirits, omens, protective rituals, and household wisdom.
Discover the banshee's cry, the Santa Compaña's silent procession, the Knockers of the mines, the Meigas of Galicia, and the sacred thresholds and warnings that shaped everyday life across centuries.
Each region unfolds as a layered portrait of belief-where nature, death, luck, and protection were not abstract ideas, but active forces woven into homes, landscapes, and seasons.
A journey through the forgotten logic of superstition, where meaning lived in signs, silence, and story.
