Productomschrijving

This study examines the institutional consolidation of Old Kingdom Egypt, traditionally termed the Ancient Empire in part of Spanish-language historiography. It focuses on the formation of political, administrative, religious, and economic structures capable of articulating diverse territories and communities during the age of the pyramids. The continuity of the Egyptian state is not attributed here to a single environmental or administrative cause, but rather to the interaction among the monarchy, central and provincial institutions, networks of labor and redistribution, cults, settlements, and Egypt's connections with Nubia, the Levant, Sinai, and the Red Sea.According to leading Egyptologists and historians, the Old Kingdom of Egypt is one of the most complex periods to study because of the scarcity of documentation and the ambiguity of the surviving evidence. This work examines the process of institutional consolidation during this fundamental stage, a subject of considerable importance that requires a meticulous and critical analysis of the historical sources that have survived to the present day. This collection brings together independent studies that explore power, ideology, legitimacy, and history from a cross-disciplinary perspective. Each volume constitutes an autonomous work while forming part of a common line of inquiry: the critical analysis of how power is configured, exercised, and sustained over time. From Ancient Egypt to twentieth-century totalitarianism, Papeles de Trabajo presents, with academic rigor and clear exposition, the historical and discursive mechanisms that shape our societies. Each installment is numbered to reflect its place within this evolving series. Agustin V. Startari, born in 1982, is a recognized Uruguayan author, thinker, and researcher with a solid academic background in Historical Studies and Linguistics from the Universidad de la República (UdelaR). His extensive body of work ranges from rigorous historical research to fiction and studies of Buddhism, reflecting both his intellectual versatility and his sustained curiosity across diverse fields of knowledge.Among his most notable publications are Maquinaria de Propaganda: El Nacionalsocialismo, an analysis of discursive power in twentieth-century Germany; Evangelización en la Pluma de Fray Bartolomé, a study of the influence of evangelization in the New World; and Ucrania y Rusia: Un Conflicto en Progreso, an investigation of the ongoing geopolitical dispute between the two nations.Startari is distinguished by his ability to make complex subjects accessible to readers with a strong interest in history, offering a clear and approachable perspective without sacrificing academic rigor. His depth of knowledge and analytical approach make his works valuable references for those seeking a deeper understanding of diverse historical and cultural processes.
