Category 7 is a standard for Ethernet and other connection techniques that are backwards compatible with the most used CAT5 and CAT6 Ethernet cables. CAT7 has a more strict specification against crosstalk and interference than CAT6. To achieve this, shielding was added over the individual cable pairs and the entire cable.\nThe CAT7 cable standard is made for transporting 10 Gigibit Ethernet through a copper cable, although currently CAT6a cable is used for this. The cable contains 4 copper twisted pairs, just like the previous standards. CAT7 can be connected to both RJ-45 GG45 and TERA connectors. CAT7 cable can reach speeds up to 600 MHz.
