This book marks the 50th anniversary of Burnley's Division Two title win in 1972/73, a landmark that was mirrored by Vincent Kompany's Clarets champions, who stormed back into the Premier League exactly half a century later. Burnley Football Club has produced many great teams - the 'Team of the Seventies' was one of the finest, and legions of admirers still talk about them today. Martin Dobson, Geoff Nulty and Leighton James were just three of many players sold by Burnley chairman Bob Lord to pay the bills and, in doing so, denied manager Jimmy Adamson the opportunity to achieve even greater success with his team.
