Deficiencies in Defence Rights in the Acquisition and Use of Non-Legal Experiential Knowledge': This thesis examines the role of non-legal empirical rules in criminal proceedings and their validity as a source of evidence. It highlights shortcomings in the process of obtaining and utilizing those empirical rules by both the court and expert witnesses. It analyzes participation rights under the Code of Criminal Procedure, human rights requirements, and reform proposals for better control of 'expertise' and for strengthening fair trials.
