Being hunted by the man she once loved, Emery must flee the region she'd come to know as home. She trusts Wesley's expertise to lead them to safety, but neither of them are prepared for how far the lord will go to find the object of his obsession.

As the civil war progresses across the country the Southern rebellion grows, drawing mages from all over the region to fight against the East. Emery's knowledge of the other region's plans makes her a valuable ally, but it also paints a target on her back. Before long she will be forced to choose what matters to her most - love, security, or vengeance.
