The DRC, which is 100% dependent on imports of refined products, bears the brunt of this increase: the price of diesel skyrockets by 43% in mining areas, undermining the economy and households' purchasing power.The author aims to: Analyze how exogenous oil shocks are transmitted to the Congolese economy; Demonstrate that local refining is a strategic imperative; Propose a realistic and ambitious roadmap to establish a refining industry in the DRC.
