Originally published in 1978, Psychological Perspectives in Youth Sports came out of symposium designed to foster communication in the field of sport psychology, which was fragmented at the time. The book represents an early example of research into the psychological effects of sport and competition on children and adolescents, including those with disabilities. Today it can be read in its historical context.
