Paralyzed by pretension, a writer finds himself weathered with moral and mental decay in his search for meaning as an artist. In a landscape of isolation, the author takes us on a cerebral creative maze through inhabiting various archetypes in a quest for self-realization and rehabilitation. The only redemption for the author is in his legacy. In doing so, he must recover his psyche through works by materializing a band of reprobates to immortalize his junkyard jungle of a mind through publication. Art is never finished, only abandoned. The choice for this writer is whether to continue polishing turds or press flush to refrain from the strain of the brain.


Jack Mackie is a writer, poet, and actor. In this work, he blends metafiction with a dystopian backdrop to investigate philosophy and psychoanalysis to meander through the mandala of the mind to unravel a deeper understanding of the self. An endeavor of individuation, Jack has utilized the very act of writing to confront his own mental health hurdles in seeking clarity and stability.
