The Kongōkai Daimonji Shidai (金剛界大門寺次第 / The Sequence of the Mindful Recitation for the Vajradhātu, Daimon-ji), copied and compiled by Yūkai Hōin (宥快法印) at Hōshōin (宝性院) temple on January 29 of the tenth year of the Ōei era (1403), is an abbreviated manual used for actual practice during the Vajradhātu (金剛界) preliminary training. Traditionally, it has been referred to as the "Daimonji Sequence" transmitted from Jōsei (定清) of the Hirosawa-gata Nishinoin-ryū (西院) lineage through Jōhan (定範) of Injōin (引摂院) to Chūin-ryū (中院流). In philological reality, however, Yūkai Hōin (宥快法印) compiled this abbreviated text based on his own comprehensive edition (Kubi Shidai / 頸次第) in the year following its completion. It omits complex processes such as the individual mudrās and mantras for various deities in each of the assemblies described in the comprehensive manual, in order to reduce the practical burden on practitioners.
