Description du produit

Ömer, a fifty-year-old waiter in Istanbul's Kadıköy district, lives a quiet life shaped by routine, solitude, and unresolved grief over his father's mysterious death. His predictable existence changes when a shift on a luxury yacht cruise leads him to Büyükada, the largest of the Princes' Islands. There, he meets Leyla, a young woman who gives him a bouquet of lavender. The scent awakens an extraordinary ability in Ömer: he can hear the unspoken thoughts of others and sense emotional imprints lingering in places and objects. Guided by this unsettling gift, he ascends to Hagia Yorgi Church, where he is overwhelmed by the accumulated voices and memories of past pilgrims.Seeking answers, Ömer turns to Leyla. She reveals that the lavender carries an ancient power connecting select individuals to a shared realm of consciousness. As their connection deepens, they begin to communicate without words, their thoughts merging into a disorienting closeness that evolves into love. Leyla introduces him to a hidden network of people who share this silent ability.Returning to Istanbul, Ömer attempts to resume his ordinary life. His heightened perception transforms his work, but the constant influx of unfiltered thoughts becomes a heavy burden, eroding the boundaries of his identity.Driven to solve his father's death, Ömer uses his power to piece together hidden fragments of memory from those connected to the past, uncovering truths shaped by silence and moral ambiguity. His search leads him eastward to the remote city of Kars and the ancient ruins of Ani. There, at a grave tied to the origin of the lavender's power, he confronts a forgotten history that blurs the line between myth and reality. In a final test of his abilities, Ömer reaches across the border into Armenia to enter the fractured consciousness of a comatose man, forcing him to reckon with the ethical boundaries of his gift. As his sense of self threatens to dissolve, Ömer must ultimately decide whether to embrace this connection or withdraw into isolation-confronting whether human life is shaped by choice or guided by an unseen design.
