Zara Cheer Dreams- Zara Joins the Cheer Squad

Zara Joins the Cheer Squad is a warm, confidence-building cheerleading chapter book for girls ages 6-8. After a school pep rally, second grader Zara decides to try out for the Sunrise Sparks. With simple vocabulary and short chapters, young readers follow Zara as she learns 8-counts, claps, clean motions, tiny toe-touch jumps, and the safest first stunts with bases and a back spot. When the music fizzles, a bow slips, or a stunt wobbles, the team models calm problem solving: breathe, trust your people, choose safety, and finish with heart. Perfect for early independent reading or shared read-alouds, this upbeat story highlights teamwork, friendship, school spirit, and a growth mindset.
Parents and educators will appreciate age-appropriate cheer terms introduced in context, along with an emphasis on safety. Set in a diverse school, Zara joins the Cheer Squad, which suits fans of sports and dance stories, as well as early chapter books. Includes a pep rally performance, a small-gym plan, a ripple ending, and a look ahead to a flyer clinic. If your child loves bows, chants, or trying new activities, this cheerleading book will spark smiles-and maybe a practice clap on the even counts. Ready to cheer with Zara? Five, six, seven, eight-go Sparks!
