What does a dropped catch have in common with a missed promotion? What does a batsman's wandering mind at the crease share with a parent distracted at the dinner table? And what ancient wisdom connects a coach's training ground to the most pressing challenges of modern life?

Play Well answers all of this - through the story of one cricket season and one unforgettable word.Arjun Mehta is twenty-four, gifted, and perpetually almost there. Over one season, under the quiet guidance of veteran Vikram Nair and the exacting Coach Bhaskar, he begins to understand that cricket - preparation, presence, teamwork, integrity, and the graceful acceptance of the innings ending - is not a sport. It is a manual for living. At the heart of the book is Tathastu: a Sanskrit word meaning " so be it." It is the universe's response to every action, right or wrong. To the mother who cooks well and the father who sacrifices quietly. To the friend who plays rough because they take you seriously. To the shortcut taken when no one was watching, and the truth told when the lie would have been easier.Drawing on the ancient framework of the four purposes of life - Dharma, Artha, Kaam and Moksha - Play Well shows how the lessons of the cricket field apply with equal force to every boardroom, every household, and every ordinary Tuesday. This is a small book with a large heart. It will make you laugh, make you think, and send you back to whatever your pitch is - a little more prepared, a little more present, and a great deal more grateful for the innings you are in.So Be It..!
