Description du produit

Dorian Blackwell awakens in a remote pagoda with no memory of how he arrived there, surrounded by an atmosphere of endless twilight, ancient rituals, and the ominous sound of a Great Bell. Helena, the silent woman caring for him, seems to know far more about his past than she is willing to reveal. As Dorian struggles to understand the strange visions invading his mind, he begins to experience other identities living inside him-Maxwell the cold doctor, Felix the desperate thief, Julian the monk, and other forgotten faces whose memories emerge with every toll of the bell.At first, Dorian believes these figures must be separate people whose lives somehow became trapped inside his mind. But the reflections, voices, and fragments of memory gradually reveal a darker possibility: every face belongs to him. Each identity represents a different life, a different crime, or a different way he once justified the suffering he caused. The deeper he searches, the more he realizes that his amnesia is not a clean beginning but a stolen escape from a terrible debt.Helena becomes the most painful key to his forgotten history. Her scarred hands and exhausted silence suggest that she survived something catastrophic, and when Dorian finally confronts her, he discovers the truth he has been desperately avoiding. He was responsible for destroying her family. The man she has continued to care for is the same man who caused the bloodshed that ruined her life. His supposed "blank slate" was not innocence-it was another act of theft, taking away the memory of his crimes while leaving Helena to carry their consequences. The Great Bell continues to summon the buried identities, forcing Dorian deeper into the truth. When he encounters the final face, he tries to deny that this cruel and broken man could possibly be him. Sebastian, the high monk, refuses to let him hide behind that denial. He tells Dorian that identity is formed from every shadow a person has cast, not simply from the name or face they choose to accept. Dorian follows Sebastian beneath the pagoda into a subterranean vault, where the mystery of the bell and the village's eternal twilight waits to be uncovered. As the boundaries between past and present collapse, Dorian must decide whether to continue fleeing from the lives he once lived or accept that every one of those faces is part of him. The story becomes a haunting exploration of identity, guilt, memory, and responsibility, asking whether a person can truly become someone new without first confronting the person they used to be.
