Barnegat's Light: The Great Garmando

Every summer, cousins Nathan, Jack, and Maddie gather at their great-grandmother's beach house on the Jersey Shore. But this year, when a mysterious lighthouse beam and a box of bakery magic open a portal to the Magic Lands, they're swept into a world where imagination is the strongest magic of all-and stories have the power to save or destroy whole realms.
When Maddie and Jack are kidnapped by the villainous Mr. Doubtrum and his army of doughnut-loving Grizzoxs, it's up to Nathan to rally a Fellowship of oddball heroes-a Nutcracker in purple pajamas, a flamboyant flamenco dancer, a cloud-shaping Water Elf, and a genie with a flying magic carpet. Together, they he must travel through lighthouses that guide more than ships, outwit pirates, and battle reality itself. Only by believing in each other-and in the magic of stories-can they rekindle the Great Northern Star and find their way home.
