It begins with a general introduction, followed by an epidemiological analysis of parasitic infections, highlighting the main risk factors linked to rearing conditions, hygiene and animal density, as well as their impact on the dynamics of infestations. The book goes on to describe the main parasitic pathologies, grouped into three main categories. Nematodoses include ascariasis, heterakidosis, capillariasis and syngamosis, all of which are responsible for digestive and respiratory disorders, with a major impact on growth and zootechnical performance. Protozooses play a major role and include coccidioses, cryptosporidioses, histomonoses, trichomonoses and sarcocystoses, characterized by digestive and sometimes systemic disorders, leading to significant economic losses.
