Meera Desai Thrillers - The Third Chain Livre de poche

Eighteen months after becoming the unified guardian of both chains, ex-FBI agent Meera Desai has built a quiet life running a heritage consultancy in New York with her partner Claire Whitfield. The ancient knowledge is being released responsibly. The system is working.

Then a materials scientist in Zurich is murdered in her lab after publishing a paper describing a carbon nanotube structure that shouldn't exist - a structure identical to knowledge locked inside the Padmanabhaswamy repository. A billionaire collector in Dubai dies in a helicopter crash. A mathematics professor in Tokyo discovers a medieval Japanese formula that mirrors the RSA-breaking algorithm from an ancient Indian temple.

Meera recognizes the pattern: Emperor Ashoka's knowledge network was never just Indian. Through Buddhist missionaries and Silk Road traders, fragments of ancient knowledge scattered across four continents over two thousand years. And someone is assembling every fragment for simultaneous global release.

Dr. Lena Voss - a brilliant, idealistic scholar who runs the Prometheus Foundation - calls it "the Liberation." She believes the guardians are no different from the colonial powers who suppressed knowledge for centuries. That everything should go free, immediately, without gatekeepers.

She's not entirely wrong.

To stop her, Meera must race across Zurich, Berlin, London, Istanbul, and Iceland, confront the moral limits of secrecy, and make the hardest choice of her career: guard the knowledge as her predecessors did for twenty-three centuries - or help set it free.

THE THIRD CHAIN is the explosive series finale of the Meera Desai Thrillers, following VAULT B and TWO CHAINS.
