Description du produit

Learning to play the alto saxophone is much easier when your eyes, brain and fingers start working together. This collection of 26 easy pieces, plus 7 bonus higher-octave versions, uses the Notecue(TM) color-coded mnemonic system to reinforce note recognition and fingering while you actually play music. The pieces are arranged to become progressively more challenging. So you can start with very simple tunes and work your way toward pieces such as Greensleeves and Für Elise as your confidence and skills develop. The colors used throughout this learning system are not a random rainbow. They form a carefully designed mnemonic system built around meaningful associations that give every note a strong visual memory anchor. Blue = B. Crimson = C.And so on.The color gives your brain an immediate clue about the note you are looking at. But there is an important difference between these colors and ordinary colored music or tabs. They are not there to tell you what to play instead of reading the note. The color appears alongside the black or white note so that, in a single glance, your brain is taking in both the actual note and its mnemonic color. You are reading the regular note with all its timing and articulation while simultaneously getting a memory reinforcement for it.You might think, "Won't I just become dependent on the colors?" That would be a reasonable concern if the colors were simply acting as tabs. They aren't. A tab tells you what to do. A mnemonic helps you remember what you're seeing. Even when it's not there anymore. The book includes familiar melodies such as Mary Had a Little Lamb, Silent Night, Jingle Bells, Yankee Doodle, Happy Birthday, Frère Jacques, Can-Can, Ode to Joy, Greensleeves and Für Elise, alongside traditional folk songs, nursery tunes and other easy favorites. The higher-octave versions give you an opportunity to revisit familiar melodies while giving your upper register an extra workout.
