Granny Mae and Granny Min is a creative way to teach about opposites. The book compares the author Hope Robinson's paternal and maternal grandmothers. Learning opposites helps children in describing things, making comparisons, and helps them develop a more concrete knowledge of specific concepts. The book highlights things that are different but also similar. The grandmothers are similar in having the same granddaughter, helping to raise her, and both loving her; at the same time, they are different as described in the book.This book is simply fascinating. Hope is also the author of educational books: Ally's Apple Days, Zach's Snacks: Bocadillos de Zach (bilingual), and Nate Eats: Nate Come (bilingual). It is refreshing to find teaching tools incorporated into a story; the author Hope Allison Robinson does a fantastic job.
